Director

Hello, I am Clare. I’m a Director at thrivin’ together, where I bring my background in research and policy on gender and health — particularly how illness and health are shaped by the way society is organised. I feel privileged to be part of an organisation that listens to women’s voices and builds support around their experiences, rather than adding them into programmes designed for men.
It matters to me that thrivin together recognises women’s experiences of gambling harm are deeply connected to broader social conditions – from financial skills and the demands of caring for others, to the dynamics of power in relationships. That’s why our support goes beyond gambling itself, addressing the wider realities that shape women’s lives.
I am fascinated by domestic history – the history of the home, family and everyday life.
I would like to finish my PhD – which I am doing part time. I believe research should be done with not to the people most affected. I would like to be part of making this happen in at least in some of the research on gambling harm to come.
