Job Title: Affected Other’s Co-ordinator
Salary: £28000-£30,000 pro-rata dependent on experience
Hours 12 per week inc some evening work 12-month contract (with the possibility of extension)
Location: Working from home. We are flexible in discussing work schedules.
thrivin’ together is a UK women-only organisation led by lived experience of gambling. We offer space and time to women who actively gamble, are in gambling recovery or impacted by someone else’s gambling.
In this important role you will be supporting women impacted by someone else’s gambling by delivering responsive care and support.
The role will develop and facilitate group sessions to provide a safe, welcoming space for women to meet and gain support. The role will also provide signposting/referrals to other services and you will be encouraged to schedule activities and speakers of interest. Occasional one to one support is an expectation of this role.
Administration tasks, promoting the organisation and developing partnerships are expectations of this role. This role will involve working directly with women, holding space for them and fostering connection. We welcome women who have been affected by someone else’s gambling to apply.

Job Purpose
This role will:
- Facilitate regular drop in spaces with women impacted by someone else’s gambling.
- Promote the organisation and specific services for affected others.
- Actively target women who may require support.
- Build and maintain relationships with relevant partner organisations.
- Co-ordinate activities responsive to the requests of our community.
- Support a culture which encourages and empowers.
- Complete administrative duties in an efficient and timely manner
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and facilitate regular spaces and gatherings ensuring safety for women.
- Provide information, referrals, and support connecting women with appropriate community resources and services.
- Develop honest and open relationships with our community that foster trust.
- Advocate for women’s rights and access to services within the community.
- Engage in ongoing professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
- Support our community to influence their care and support to meet their goals.
- Work with people in our community with a wide range of experiences and cultural backgrounds with dignity, respect and kindness.
- Work together with the wider team to ensure that offerings are fit for purpose and meet the needs of the community.
- Represent the voice of the community through training, consultations and events.
Personal Specification: Experience
Essential:
- Lived experience as someone affected by someone else’s gambling.
- Experience in providing support to people with a range of challenges.
- Experience in coordinating events and delivering group-work.
Desirable:
- Experience in providing trauma-informed care.
Personal Specification: Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge and understanding of gambling impacts and mental health.
- Evidence of good communication skills – written, verbal and digital.
- Understanding of the barriers women experience in accessing support.
- Experience working with people with a variety of individual and cultural beliefs.
- Ability to use empathy and self-awareness to build positive relationships with our community and colleagues.
- Confident presentation and IT skills.
